Meet the team!


Simon Perlaki – Managing Director

Simon handles the business as well the finances and is one of the founders of Giant Digital.

Prior to working at Giant Digital, Simon was team leader for a web development company, producing websites and web-based solutions for a wide variety of SMEs and blue-chip clients. He also had many design orientated jobs for magazines and printing companies.


Andy Day - Managing Director

Andy is responsible for developing our portfolio of websites, monitoring content as well as putting together our marketing strategy.

One of Giant Digital's founders, Andy has been with the company since it was just the music website Gigwise.com, where he started out as Editor.

Before settling down into the world of online media, Andy worked for MTV, Trinity Mirror and in the music industry.


Don Amaechi - Sales Director

Appointed as Giant Digital’s Sales Director, Don joined the team in September 2011 after previously working at Adnetik as Account Director.

Beginning his career at Computerweekly.com and later moving to Dennis Interactive, he has sold online services to advertising agencies and companies from Apple to Xerox.

With a strong ability to develop and build business relationships as well as possessing a wealth of experience and client base, Don is ensuring he is a healthy and exciting addition to the Giant Digital team.

He's also a keen fitness fanatic, spending his spare time swimming and running. He DJs, playing music of various styles at a number of London's top nightspots and recently produced his third dance EP.


Steve McQueen – PR & Marketing Manager

Beginning work as a writer back in late 2002, Steve contributed some of Gigwise's earliest features with his controversial guerilla-style memoirs of life on the road with some of the world's biggest bands. A seasoned musician himself, Steve toured the UK supporting Gary Numan in 2009, prior to that scoring a record deal with Hip-Hop label TVT Records in 2005.

His talents for dealing with press and ingenius creative marketing strategies has put him on a new path in charge of Giant Digital's PR & Marketing department, carving him an essential role within the company. He is also responsible for organising the Gigwise monthly club nights attracting the hottest acts from around the globe.

Claire Rutter – Editor, EntertainmentWise

Claire joined the Giant Digital crew in early 2010 to relaunch TaleTela to the masses. She has since moved over to EntertainmentWise and as Editor she is responsible for the overall content on the website, including the latest gossip news, red-carpet photo galleries and fashion round-ups.

She also manages EntertainmentWise's freelance contributors, who supply the hottest news from film premieres and review some of the year's must-see movies.

Holding a masters in journalism hasn't stopped Claire from quoting Kanye's FULL CAPS RANTS.

Michael Baggs – Editor, Gigwise

Michael joined Gigwise in March 2012 as Editor. He had previously worked for Top Of The Pops magazine, Popjustice, Channel4.com/music and Orange Music, and had freelanced for Attitude, The London Paper and Yahoo among others. His jointly-run blog, RobotPigeon, has been nominated for several Record Of The Day blog awards.

Before being scouted by Gigwise’s publishing seniors - Giant Digital - Michael was managing all online content and social media for the Brit Awards 2012. His favourite bands are Daft Punk, Sigur Ros and Mew.

Deepika Rajani – TV Editor, EntertainmentWise

Deepika started as an intern for EntertainmentWise at Giant Digital in 2009 and worked her way up from head of cakes and biscuits to staff writer across all of the pop culture properties.

Since then she's bagged herself the top TV job at EntertainmentWise focusing on the best soaps, reality TV and UK and US shows.

When asked for a few words about herself she replied with “im (sic) sure you can make some nice stuff up...”

In 2008 Deepika was the first person to win University Challenge single-handedly and is the youngest person to have gone into space on the Space Shuttle.

Deepika was trained by the BBC on their Step Up project which gives promising graduates a head start in the journalism business.

Holly Frith - Talent Booker, EntertainmentWise

Holly began her career in primary school near Manchester as one of the most prolific crayoners in her class before attending UCLAN to study journalism.

She has experienced one of Giant Digital's fastest rises through the company, starting as an intern in late 2010 she soon became Deputy Editor of Gigwise before taking the top Music Editor spot on EntertainmentWise in early 2012.

While writing for the student newspaper, Holly interviewed a young Lady Gaga before she was famous and has contributed to MOJO, The Fly and Q.

She unfortunately killed her pet rat Cantona by accident and cites Alison Mosshart as her style inspiration.

Alicia Adejobi – Music Editor, EntertainmentWise

Alica has written for several publications and websites including Musicrooms.net, Red magazine, Pride Magazine as well as interviewing the likes of Jason Derulo, Katy B, Raphael, Beverly Knight and Tim Westwood.

Prior to this, Alicia attended Bournemouth University where she studied Multimedia Journalism. Now relocated in London, she has made a somewhat spectacular jump from an intern, to Editor of Taletela and then to Music Editor of EntertainmentWise.

She promises big things for the site and as a true music lover she describes the perks of the job as "being able to listen to music all day."

Georgie Barratt – Video Presenter, EntertainmentWise

Georgie was discovered when EntertainmentWise created its own online reality competition 'Face Of EntertainmentWise', which set out to find a fresh new talented presenter to front the red carpet escapades for the site. She has worked for the likes of Blue Peter making 'The Ones Made Earlier' and also has a wealth of experience doing University Radio, hospital radio and has even done a production course at Point Blank Music College.

Naturally, she loves interviewing celebs, hitting the red carpet and just generally "chilling with famous people".

She has confided her dream person to interview is Jake Gylennhall, adding "...he will then realize that I AM his future wife". Her lifes motto is "Lets make some memories and experience some outrageous joy!"

Rebecca Merriman – Celebrity Editor, EntertainmentWise

Rebecca started at Giant Digital as a freelance writer in 2012 and more recently became Celebrity Editor for Entertainmentwise. She grew up in Pembrokeshire near the picturesque town of Tenby before moving to Wales to study history at Cardiff university. She likes walking her dog, reading, going to festivals, sport and knowing all things celebrity.

Her first ever concert was Michael Jackson's Dangerous tour in 1992 but she only remembers the part when he flew out the stadium at the end. Her dislikes include cats, Kerry Katona, writing about herself and trains. She is also a self confessed 'massive light-weight'.

Shaun Kitchener – Supervising Editor, EntertainmentWise

Shaun joined Giant Digital in September 2011 as a freelance writer for EntertainmentWiseand PopDash. He has now moved roles to Supervising Editor for the evening Entertainmentwise freelancers.

He is not afraid to admit he loves shamelessly commercial pop music, trash films and The Only Way Is Essex, although having to admit that he likes TOWIE may end up on his dislike list.

Ed Keeble – Video Production

Ed joined Giant Digital as Video Editor for Gigwise, EntertainmentWise and Taletela in October 2011. Prior to this, Ed has DJ'd and promoted club nights in West London whilst gaining a masters degree in music and business.

His interests include vinyl collecting, film, DJing, comics and video games. His pet hates encompass politicians, slow walking people, "talent shows", France and TFL.

Rich Gilzene – Video Production

Richard fell into Giant Digital's welcoming arms in October 2011 as a freelance writer for Taletela covering hip hop news and scouring the net for the best new urban talent. Now harnessing his skills as Video Producer across the network of the Giant Digital sites, Richard has truly blossomed in meeting the ever growing demands for video content and Entertainment news. He has also worked for Arena and ZOO in which the daily grind included driving around the UK with Page 3 girls and catching flights to go hurricane chasing in Arizona.

His likes include complaining about Spurs' performances and the fact there's a pub within crawling distance of the Giant Digital office.
